Fabric Relaxing Length Measuring Machines-Roll to Roll

Introduction


The fabric relaxing machine is one of the key requirements in any garment processing factory. The fabric rolls are normally wound with a little tension at the manufacturer for easy and quality transportation .Therefore it is highly recommended that the rolls are relaxed and their widths & lengths measured correctly at the user’s end. This fabric relaxing machine, with the distinctive advantages of it, offers a perfect method for doing it.

 

Features of the Machine

The proposed fabric relaxing machine consists of new and advance features that can’t be found in the other competing fabric relaxing machines. These features are listed out below.

  • Vision based width detection – a camera based width detection mechanism is used for the width measurement. Two cameras mounted on top of the fabric are used for this purpose. The image is processed within the computer at a maximum rate of 15 samples per second to obtain the width.
  • The key advantage in this system is the fault tolerance. The width detection system has proven for years to work with any kind of fabric. It can detect even the thinnest fabric found, with any kind of design in it. This eliminated one of the biggest challenges faced in the sensor system of the competing products in detecting the thin fabric width.
  • The width resolution is 3mm for this system against the minimum of 10mm available in the sensor system. Also the cameras can be easily adjusted to cater the full width of the fabric. The two camera videos can be seen real time with the width detection line, which gives a very clear idea to the operator about the accuracy of the machine. This feature can’t be found in any system available.


2. Vision based color variation detection – Vision based color variation detector can be integrated to the system for detecting roll to roll and within the roll color variation detection, warning and roll categorizing. (Optional)


3. Blower based loop lifting technology – one of the key problems in the available fabric relaxing machines is the weight of the loop. Due to this weight, the fabric is never relaxed fully. The blower lifts the horizontal part of the fabric before the length measurement supplying a vertical air blow, but the horizontal force applied is still there. The proposed machine is designed to lift the loop itself from the blower, making the loop weight to zero. This would make the tension on the fabric to a minimum and make the fabric fully relaxed. Also this would eliminate the error in the length  when the fabric is not fully relaxed.

4. Edge Control – a special roller alignment sensors and an alignment motor set is used to align the fabric edge in the roller. This feature increases the quality of the relaxed roll very much in terms of the appearance and by eliminating any irregularities in the fabric winding.

5. Automatic Fabric cutter, Cut the fabric at set length, the set length can given via 10in Touchscreen

6. Precise loop control – a sensor array is used to control the loop precisely to make the relaxing even through the entire roll. Loop is used only at the forward run to enable tight rewinding of the roll for long term storage.

7. Network based software – the software, data and prints can be managed through the local area network. In the case that the computer of the machine is connected to the LAN, the system software can be used from a remote computer for report viewing, printing and calibration settings. (optional)

8. Usable Width calculation – advanced mathematical functions are used on the width data set to calculate the usable width, which is calculated on the cut off margin on the standard normal distribution on the fabric width. This distribution should be applied with input filters for eliminating any irregularities or faults in the fabric such as a missing piece of a fabric. The functions are implemented in the system software when the report is generated at the end of the roll relaxation.

9. Data Storage, analyze and backup – the software can be used to store the roll data, analyze the data and backup the database through a common access database system. Therefore it would be easy for the client to generate any kind of report on requirement.

10. Customized Software Design – the system software will be customized according to the client’s need. The main window, reports and other functionalities can be chosen by the client to suit his requirements and preferences.

11. No license charge – The system and software is supplied without any expiration date. The supplier will offer an optional maintenance agreement after the warranty period, but there will be no fixed license charge on the customer on year basis.
